Winkler county Texas is sparsely populated and has a 25 bed community hospital.  Two nurses there saw what they thought was malfeasance and malpractice on the part of a Doctor,and, appropriately, did some whistle blowing.  But a strange thing happened on the way to justice.  The local Sheriff, instead of supporting the reporting nurses, turned things around and charged them with crimes instead.  ( Turns out the Sheriff was selling medical supplements in a business deal with the doctor )  After going through a tough two years the nurses are vindicated and the Sheriff is GUILTY, GUILTY, GUILTY and has to resign.  He was convicted of misuse of official information, a felony and there are some other niceties.  Reading the hard facts in the Odessa paper is one thing.  Wait till you read the in depth opinion linked here:
