INDIANAPOLIS -- Forty-two members of a Outlaws Motorcycle Club in Indiana have been charged with crimes ranging from mail fraud to money laundering following an FBI raid this morning. ( yesterday )
U.S. Attorney Joe Hogsett said during a news conference this afternoon that the dismantling of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club will make Indianapolis streets safer.
“Our policy on organized crime in Indianapolis is very simple: zero tolerance,” Hogsett said in a prepared statement. “If you are operating a criminal gang in this city, the clock is ticking. It might be tomorrow, it might be weeks from now, but it is only a matter of time before you wake up to the sound of federal agents at your door.”
FBI agents raided the Indianapolis and Fort Wayne clubhouses of the Outlaws this morning.
Hogsett said the Outlaws ran a “dangerous criminal operation that was as well-layered and sophisticated as most businesses in this city.”
